5 Dayd Tour to Israel To/ From Taba Boarder (Egypt)

 

 

Day 1: From Sinai (Egypt) to Israel.


We set out from Taba, and drive through Eilat along the Arava Valley towards the Dead Sea, where we stop for a short break. There is also a possibility to take a short dip in its unique and healthy water. We will visit Masada, climbing to the fortress on the top by cable car. We go back in history to the Greko-Roman era and unveil the dramatic saga of the Jewish rebels that fought against the Roman and also  will provide us with some ideas about the monumental architectural achievement of the builders the Hasmonean kings and the biggest constructer of Old Time Israel, king Herod. Noon time, we ascend to The Holy City, Jerusalem. We start with a panoramic view from The Mount of Olives – a good place for an introduction to the city and its history. Then we drive down to the Old City: We start with the Wailing Wall, which represents the last remnants of the Jewish Temple, destroyed by the Romans. Usually you can see the various types of Jews who come to worship at this holy place. Then we continue through the Muslim Quarter and the Arab Market ("Suq") to the "Via Dolorosa", Jesus' "Way of Suffering", which leads us to The Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where according to the Christian tradition Jesus was crucified and buried. .Overnight in Jerusalem - (Half Board basis).


Day 2:


This day of the tour is dedicated to the New City of Jerusalem. We visit Yad Vashem, the memorial of the holocaust, and then the famous "Menorah" (Candelabra) located in front of the "Knesset"-Building, housing Israel's Parliament. At the "Israel Museum" we visit the Model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple Period. This is a 1:50 scale model of the city, as it was during one of its most important periods, when Judaism and Christianity, as we know them today, started to evolve. The model is built from the original materials, and is updated according to the most recent archaeological researches. We will also visit the "Shrine of the Book", where the "Dead Sea Scrolls" are exhibited. In the afternoon we take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque village Ein Karem, where according to local tradition John the Baptist was born. Overnight in Jerusalem.


Day 3: From Jerusalem to Tel Aviv & the Galille..


We drive down to the pulsating city Tel Aviv - "a city without a break". After a short drive through the city, we step out of the bus and walk through the romantic alleys of Jaffa, the historical port-city that gave birth to the first Hebrew city – Tel Aviv. The alleys that have seen King Salomon, The Prophet Jonas, Simon the Tanner and Napoleon Bonaparte are now home to many artists, who get their inspiration here. We drive along the Mediterranean Sea to the magnificent Port City of Caesarea, built by King Herod the Great and see its magnificent buildings that remained from the Roman period. We will have a look at the modern port-city Haifa, situated on the slopes of the evergreen Mt. Carmel. The view from this mountain is famous for its beauty. In the afternoon we ascend to the holy city of Tzefat (Safed), the center of Jewish Mysticism, Kabbalah. We breathe its special, spiritual atmosphere, listen to its many legends, and visit some of its enchanted synagogues.  Overnight Tiberius / Nazareth

 

Day 4:


After early breakfast, transfer to Nazareth, Begin the excursion with a walking tour of Nazareth including the Church of Annunciation, the old city and the Market (suq). On the way from Nazareth we will pass through Kana and Continue to Capernaum for a visit to Peter's House. We will then visit the Church on the Mt. of Beatitudes, where the Sermon on the Mount took place, and the Church of the Primacy and the Church of the Multiplication in Tabhga. We will also sail on the Sea of Galilee in a boat similar to the boat used by Jesus and his disciples. Short drive along the Golan Hights, and if time permits, we will visit Yardenit Baptism site in the late afternoon. Overnight at Kibbutz Lodge in Northern Israel.


Day 5: From Israel Back To Egypt...


First thing in the morning we will set for Mt. Tabor, which according to Christian tradition is the setting of the Transfiguration of Jesus. The road up the slope of the mountain is so steep, that we will have to leave our bus and change into taxis that will take us to the scenic church built on top of this mountain. After descending Mt. Tabor we drive along the Jordan Valley, past Jericho, to Qumran, the site where the famous "Dead Sea Scrolls" were found. We will learn about the special way of life of the Esseans who lived in Qumran and had a great influence on the development of Judaism and Christianity, as we know them today.  In the afternoon we drive along the Arava Road back to Taba border – departure…
